BIG MEDIA CAMPAIGN:

ONTARIO, QUEBEC AND ATLANTIC PROVINCES TOUR

The first CCSA national tour to demand government action against contraband tobacco was launched on Monday, May 10 in Quebec City, followed by similar tours in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces. Between May 10 and June 10, 2 CCSA caravans visited more than 50 cities across Quebec & Ontario. A press conference was held in a convenience store in each city. In addition, 8 cities were covered in the Atlantic region. New butt study findings in schools and public places were released to the media. In addition, retailers called upon their Members of Parliament (MPs) to take the pledge of reducing contraband tobacco to a 10% level in their ridings, hence our campaign theme: 10% • 2010 CONTRABAND OBJECTIVE.
